Named after the doll of iconic loveteam of the 60’s, Guy and Pip, “Maria Leonora Teresa” is a 2014 Pinoy horror-suspense drama film starring Jodi Sta. Maria, Zanjoe Marudo and Iza Calzado.
The film revolves around three parents Faith (Sta. Maria), Julio (Marudo) and Stella (Sta. Maria) who lost their respective daughters, Maria, Leonora and Teresa. With the help of a psychiatrist named Manolo, the parents are advised to adopt life-sized dolls. But instead of coping with their loss, their way to recovery only worsens when the dolls seem to be brought to life by evil.
Perfect for the millenials, this horror teenage movie is starred by teen idols, Jake Vargas, Bea Binene and Sarah Lahbati. When Niko (Vargas) is faced by a murder mystery in a town called Estancia, he tries to resolve the mystery - crossing paths with a mysterious enigmatic woman (Lahbati).
Directed by Chito Rono who also gave us "Feng Shui" (2004) and "Sukob" (2006), “The Healing” proves to be another addition to the classic Pinoy horror movies. It is about Seth (Vilma Santos) who after successfully bringing her father to a faith healer named Elsa (Daria Ramirez) is convinced by her friends, neighbors and son, Jed (Martin del Rosario) who brings along half-sister Cookie (Kim Chiu) to be brought to the faith healer.
But after being healed, each patient dies from strange and violent circumstances. Seth tries to uncover the mystery behind to stop the sinister.
More than being a horror thriller film about an unraveling mystery of a crime, “Malikmata” is also a story of the search for justice. The film revolves around Sarah (Rica Peralejo) who has been bestowed with a gift to see and hear things before they happen; Mrs. Ellen Saavedra (Barbara Perez) and house helper Ditas (played by Ana Capri) who both got murdered; Rodolfo Magsilang (Wowie De Guzman) boyfriend of Ditas and is accused for the murder; and Narding Mojica (Ricky Davao), an estranged relative of Saavedra’s and is likewise a possible suspect.
